Mark the guitarist!
Mark founded Stircrazy wayyyy back in 1991 after his previous band exploded (the other guitarist in that band is currently in Australia - quite an explosion!) and has been the driving force behind it ever since.
Mark has been playing guitar since he was 15. He took up guitar as he wanted to get into a band, and he had the choice of either drums or guitar. He couldn't afford a guitar or a drum kit, but he could build a guitar in wood work classes!
From this home made guitar he bought "Mr Scary" - his first "proper" guitar. Why the name? Well, he used to play his homemade guitar through a "ghetto blaster" rather than a guitar amp - and so had turned all the levels up to give him the sound that he wanted. Anyhow - he got Mr Scary home, plugged it in at the same levels and played. The result was something like that out of "Back To the Future"...blown up speakers and a guitar that had scared Mark!
Mark loves all things rock - anything with a guitar solo - but more often than not, he'll be listening to AC/DC, LA Guns and other 80s style rock.
Mark has given the nickname Manicguitarist due to usually being pretty hyper - once described as "incorrigibly chirpy" (he does get grouchy if he misses a nap though) Mark uses all this energy for partying hard on stage!
