Welcome to the website of St. Paul's CoE Church, Constable Lee, Rawtenstall. We are a Bible-believing, community focused Christian church in Rawtenstall, Lancashire.
We welcome you to join us for a service - we hope you'll enjoy what you find!
When you come in through the large doors, you'll be given a warm welcome....but there is much more to the church than just the building.
When you enter the church building you will (hopefully!) be met by someone giving out books. They aren't there to scare you, but they should be able to answer any questions you may have. At a morning service you'll probably receive a service book, notice sheet and hymn book.....the evening services have less papers.
You can sit anywhere you like. We have pews, but we don't have a formal atmosphere! Some people use the time before the service starts to chat to others, some like to spend it in silence. Do whatever feels right to you.
During a morning service you can follow what's going on in the service book, or on the screen. There are opportunities to respond to things that are said, but don't feel you have to join in. There will be songs and you will be invited to either sit or stand, so do whichever makes you feel comfortable. One of the songs will be an 'offertory'. This is just a song during which two people will wander round with small baskets into which people put a monetary donation towards the work of the church. Don't feel obliged to give, but this money is used for the upkeep of the building and for donations.
At the end of the morning service, we serve tea, coffee, juice and biscuits at the front right hand side of the church. Please do join us for a drink and a chat.
You can find us just off Burnley Road in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. We can be quite tricky to find (but we don't mean to hide!) so if you're having problems locating us, here is a map.
To find us, if you are travelling from Rawtenstall Town Centre, you may either park on Hollin Lane, which is on the right after the Spar, and walk up the smalls steps to the front of the church, or if you take the next right after Hollin Lane, by the old School, you will pass the Church Centre on your way to the church driveway.
If you are travelling from Burnley, the old school is on the left, just after The Craven Heifer pub on your right.
